Info & Safety

What do people think of your tours?

People love us. Read about us on TripAdvisor and on Yelp.‚Äč

Is it safe to ride in New York City?

YES. You will be surprised at how easy it is to ride around the city. In the past seven years NYC has filled the streets with green bicycle lanes that make commuting and sightseeing very easy. Also, most people driving in Manhattan are professional drivers who are used to driving here and pay attention to bicyclists. Lastly, with the advent of the CitiBike (our commuter bike system) people are biking everywhere all of the time. Drivers are now used to seeing bicyclists and Taxi Cabs respect us.

Do you have helmets?

Stylish helmets and the best bikes on the market are included in tour price. You may bring your own helmet too!

Are these kid friendly tours?

Yes they are. We love kids and we love families. We are comfortable guiding kids through the city. However, it is New York and we ask that all children be age 10 or up.

What if I have a friend that isn't so good at biking?

We have one tandem bicycle that can be used for anyone who is 170lbs and below and your friend can ride with the guide or with you. Be sure to mention that you'd like to use the tandem when making a reservation.

What if I don't know how to ride a bike?

Sorry, this adventure isn't for you but we can tell you lots of fun stuff to do in the city. If you wake up and say, "I haven't been on a bike in 25 years," then you should probably go practice before you come on the tour. If you know how to ride a bike the guide can keep you safe in New York's streets, but it's much harder to keep parked cars safe from someone who doesn't know how to ride a bike.

What languages do you offer tours in?

For now we only offer tours in English. But maybe someday we will offer tours in other languages.

Can I buy water along the way?

Yes, there are places to buy pretty much anything you need along the way. It's New York. We have everything available at all times. We also have bottles of water for sale at the office.

What if it rains?

We run the tours rain or shine. If you'd like to postpone your tour to another day we're happy to accommodate that. We also offer rain panchos at the office and along the ride if the weather turns bad.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing. Leave the spandex at home. You won't need to be aerodynamic on this ride. Rain jackets are always a smart thing to bring along. Sunscreen. Sunglasses.

Are all of the Tour Guides Licensed by NYC as official Sightseeing Guides?

Yes! all of our guides have our NYC Sightseeing Guide Licenses.

What if we need to cancel?

Our cancellation policy is simple; If you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation we can move your tour to another date but we can't refund your money. If it is more than 24 hours before the tour we can simply refund your money, or better yet, you can reschedule. Feel free to call or Text Adam at 718.501.4306 or email: If you feel really really bad because you had to cancel for some reason, or you just need to talk something out, like a good friend, a bicycle tour guide is always there for you.

How big are your tours?

At Loudest Yeller Bicycle Tours we believe that things are more fun in larger groups. As tourists, you finally have time and energy to meet other people and we believe that one of the great things about bicycle tours is their ability to bring people together. We also believe in Safety in Numbers. Large groups are easier to see and people pay more attention to them. Those are the two reasons that we prefer to roll in larger groups. The largest number of people we take out at any one time is 16. That said, we just opened so most of our tours are around 6 to 8 people.

Will I be able to hear the tour guide?

Yes! We are called "Loudest Yeller" for a reason. Good public speaking is part of what we do. We don't believe in ear pieces or in microphones. We believe in telling stories the way they have been told for thousands of years… with the human voice.

Are your guides Ordained by the Church of Universal Life to marry people in the State of New York?

Yes. All of our guides are ordained by the Church of Universal Life. If you want to get married on the tour we can do it! Just give us a heads up.

Do the bikes have lights?

Yes, on the night tour all of the bikes are equipped with lights, bells and you have reflector jackets to wear. People see us coming!

Do the bikes have bells?

Duh. Yes, they do. We're the Loudest Yellers.

May I store things at the office while I'm on tour?

Yes. The office is locked while we're on tour so feel free to leave things there while we're out riding.
